Tell us about your business…

Mayla Studios is the brainchild of Barbara Frazier, owner and operator. We have under ten employees, so we pride ourselves on the pint size of our shop – we know how brides can get lost in the design process with some large vendors, so we listen to and work with each bride to make sure they are in empowered and in full control of the final design.

We work within all budgets because we understand the pressure of pulling off a beautiful wedding with the bottom line in mind.

Where are you located?

Mayla Studios is a 100% end-to-end customized design shop located in the farmlands of Virginia, about 60 miles outside of Washington, D.C. in a town called Bealeton, Virginia.  Being amongst the true birthplace of the rustic trend, we live and breathe inspiration. Our shop is located between a working apple orchard and a vintage inspired winery – so inspiration is never but a few feet out the door.

What type of events have you done?

We’ve done weddings ranging from 10 people to 350 people, with venues as simple as an at-home wedding to a museum galleria. We work with all varieties of style, from romantic elegance to simple & classic to vintage & rustic. We are a completely custom shop, so we design to the bride.

What services do you provide?

We are fully custom shop that offers everything Paper – from Save the Dates, formal invitations, menus, escort cards, programs, thank you cards, to wine labels

What is the latest trend in stationary?

Right now, we are seeing a lot of brides come in to our studio and request custom vintage styles. Burlap, bakers twine, & Kraft paper are all HUGE right now. Soft pinks and grays are big for the 2013 summer weddings, but we are starting to see a lot of requests for Emerald and Rose Gold for fall weddings.

What advice do you have for brides?

You spend all this time planning your dream wedding, from your perfect dress to the collective centerpieces to the bridesmaid’s makeup, but invitations are what your guests have as a representation of your wedding sitting on their kitchen counter or on their fridge for months! Make it beautiful because it really is the first impression they have of your wedding. If your wedding is going to be glamorous and full of diamonds and roses, incorporate those features into the invitation!
