C.K. Alexander believes that wedding vows are THE most important part of your wedding day. C.K.’s love for all things romantic and her professional training in writing and journalism led her to star Love Ink, a special occasion writing and coaching service, which specializes in creating custom wedding vows and more. If you’re having trouble finding the perfect words for your big day, Love Ink is here to help you every step of the way.  We chatted with C.K. to find out more about Love Ink and what inspires her to help couples create beautiful words. Check out our interview below:

PBB:  Please tell us a little bit about your background and how you created such a unique service.

I am a professional writer by trade and I studied Journalism at Howard University in Washington D.C. and I received my Masters at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York. I have always been a hopeless romantic and loved everything about love. Naturally, being the writer in my circle, my friends would come to me to assist them with writing everything from love letters to greeting cards to love notes and I loved helping them capture their true feelings.  I launch Love Ink in 2008 and officially became a Vow Coach when my best friend asked me to help her and her husband with their wedding vows. It was such a rewarding experience that I knew I had to help other couples and individuals who had trouble articulating their feelings in words.

PBB: What type of services do you provide?

Love Ink offers a variety of services. We specialize in wedding vow coaching, where we assist you in writing your own words. We also have custom writing services where we have created an extensive interview process so that we can capture your true feelings and create the words for you. We also write love stories that you can feature on your wedding website or wedding program, we assist the best man or maid of honor with their speeches, we create custom thank you cards, poems and so much more. We help you create the perfect words for any occasion. There is no limit to what we can do here at Love Ink.

PBB: How does the process work for custom created wedding vows?

We aim to take away the stress and anxiety often associated with writing your wedding vows. The process begins with a vow consultation, which we can do over the phone, via Skype or in person. During the consultation we discuss what you would like to convey in your wedding vows. I have two vow packages, there is a coaching package and a custom written package. For clients that know what they want to say but are having trouble organizing their thoughts and feelings, I offer my coaching session. The Coaching Session is a one- hour- training session where we create the wedding vows together. For the client that has the love in their hearts but they’re not comfortable with articulating their feelings in words, I offer my custom vow creation package. I have an uncanny ability to get into the heads and hearts of my clients and extract their deepest feelings and emotions. This is when I interview them and create the vows for them based on everything that we discussed during our interview process. Both packages include custom printable PDF’s of their final vows and custom designed note cards that they can use at the ceremony.

PBB: Why should couples or individuals consider hiring a professional Vow Coach?

I think wedding vows are the most important part of your wedding day. These are not just words. These are the words that will govern your marriage, create your legacy and be a constant reminder of your choice to walk in this life with one another forever. This is deep. These words have to be perfect. I understand that everyone doesn’t share the same abilities when it comes to writing. I am here to help those who want their words to their partner to be amazing. Hiring a professional does not make your words any less sincere. Even the president has speechwriters! When you have to write words that mean everything to you, you want to make sure you do it right and that’s where I come in.

 PBB: What is your inspiration?

I am inspired by genuine love. There is nothing greater than being in the presence of two people that love each other madly! It’s so infectious and beautiful that I can’t help but to be inspired. Every time I meet a new client it reaffirms that this is my passion and my purpose. I live to help people create beautiful words.

PBB: Tips for Couples on how to get started writing their own vows?

The best way to get started is to brainstorm. Get a pen and paper and write down the 5 words that come to your mind when you think about your partner. Those 5 words will help shape your vows and create a theme for when you’re writing your wedding vows. Make sure that those 5 words appear in your wedding vows when you go to write your final draft! Also, if you get writer’s block while creating your vows, try listening to romantic music to get your creative juices flowing.
